We’re getting back to work for January’s Artwalk with our open house. This month we’re happy to present Macroscopics by Sarah Mosteller. Doors open Friday, January 14th at 6:00 pm and we’ll have hot popcorn and beverages.
Macroscopics by Sarah Mosteller
Macro photography affords us a rare opportunity to see the world in a way we cannot see normally. It shows us the amazing details we overlook every day, the beauty we casually walk on. We like to set ourselves apart from the general cycle of nature, but these photos illustrate the truth that we are similar in aesthetics as well as construction. They represent the hidden relationship we as humans have with things we don’t associate with at first glance.
I found natural objects such as shells, fruit, and petals; things that when photographed close up might be mistaken for a part of the human body. This is the material point of the visuals. These images show visual evidence that when we look closely at something as ordinary as a flower or as mundane as a weed, we might have something in common with it.
