SoAL 2013 Favorites

Year Five has been a landmark year for us. Thank you to everyone who has come out throughout the weekend to enjoy Southern film. You have all helped us grow this festival into what it is today.

Last year we decided to add awards into the mix and let the audience pick their favorite films. This year’s eligible films were the The Spectacular Now, The Phoenix Rises, Euphonia, Congratulations!, Who Are You People, Southern Music Video Showcase, and short films C.U.P.I.D., Georgia Howl, I Am The Interloper, The Halloween Spirit, Waiting In Line, and Inertia.

Favorite Feature:

  • Who Are You People – filmmakers Jonathan Robinson & Barry Steadman
  • Congratulations! – filmmaker Mike Brune (runner up)

Favorite Short Film:

  • Waiting In Line – filmmakers Joseph Brennan & Taylor Noll
  • Inertia – filmmaker Travis Lee Ratcliff (runner up)

Favorite Southern Music Video:

  • Tupelo Honey – Multi – filmmaker Nathaniel Nuon / Nuon Films
  • The Showdown at St. Lawrence – The Underhill Family Orchestra – filmmaker Luke Lindgren (runner up)

Tupelo Honey, Waiting In Line, and Who Are You People will get an encore screening today at 3PM at the Centre for the Living Arts.
